Playing as a bride for Love is in the air Show - 2009

I love black and white pictures.
For me, they're  romantic, mysterious, sexy, very classic.
While browsing through old ( and new ) photos this afternoon, I found some of my favorites taken by my dearest friends. Gotta love how every photos reminded me of our good memories doing Love is in the air show in Malaysia, Runaway Bride photoshoot, Singapore with Edouard, oh even playing dress up and make up with my make-up artist Safeena at work.  Glad that  I've been through lots of changes and metamorphosis from short to long hair, tomboy to a girly girl, was once a tourist guide - entertainer - writer then marketing and public relation  for different companies,  I found that growing up is a privilege. To experience different things, to fail, to learn, to fall in love, to travel, to forgive, to let go, appreciate and accept things, be the most enthusiastic positive person I know...It's just amazing how far you are willing to go when someone believes in you.

Ho Ho Ho !

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful holiday season !
Hope your day is filled with love and excited for another 6 days left in 2013 !
It's good to be home this year, had a great afternoon tea, turkey and dinner with my very special people, just can't believe it's almost the end of 2013 ! While this time last year I celebrated Christmas and new year in China with my guys, I couldn't be happier to spend quality times with my dearest friends back in Indonesia, make the most of every moment before I'm leaving again to another big adventure. It's crazy how the universe conspires to make dreams come true, that last year I wrote all my dreams in a piece of paper and put them on the wall, just in a few weeks, they're actually going to be mine !

Stay tuned for more photos from Bali coming up on the blog this weekend. In the mean time, found some old pics taken by  Arya. Absolutely one of my favorite afternoon hanging out in a park with Rike and Jojon, giggling...posing...picnic...

What were we talking about ?

Arya Iman caught us gossiping.

Coffee Studio Seniman

Here's another recommendation for coffee lovers out there planning to visit Ubud, Bali. Found this Seniman Coffee Studio when I passed by Jalan Sriwedari, decided to grab a cup of cappuccino, loved it for its homey atmosphere and excellent coffee !

It's the traditional and spiritual atmosphere, very peaceful with an amazing nature, scenic rice fields, big art & craft communities, yoga retreats, lots of good restaurants and coffee shops too that makes Ubud such a special place to relax and healing. The only place to be when you're looking for inspiration, comfort, culture, even though the tourism is growing faster, Ubud seems to never lose its own magic.
My friend and I decided to spend few days in Ubud after our amazing island getaways in Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan. Dom wanted to do yoga with Radiantly Alive Yoga three times a day, while I really enjoy my routines getting up early, order my breakfast while catching up on emails and news, then walk around the neighborhood - visiting some local shops and fall in love with every pieces of paintings, wood carving, antiques, silver and gold, furniture, jewelry, even dresses and old book stores.
We met this Scottish guy, Laurence, during dinner at Dewa Warung at Jalan Gootama. Smiley, very friendly, Laurence told us a little story why he ended up himself traveling to Ubud. His wife passed away around 6 months ago, and of course after 37 years of marriage, losing his beautiful wife - the love of his life, wasn't easy for him. So he decided to find himself again, to be happy, to fall in love with life over and over again by traveling from Australia, Indonesia to Singapore, and look forward to reunited with his kids again, celebrating Christmas and New Year in Scotland. In the end of the day, Dom and I agreed the best thing about traveling is always...meeting interesting people. We love how we actually grow a lot from our little adventures, people and places are really inspiring, somehow they help us finding ourselves in  a very unexpected ways.

Bali Cliff / Green Bowl Beach

Pssstt...secret beach, Green Bowl Beach

Sunset Bali Cliff
Sunset at Bali Cliff

Chasing the sunset

It's that time of the year again where I feel like I need to sit down for a while, do a lil bit of flashback, trying to remember again what I've done from the beginning of the year til now. Isn't it scary how time goes by so fast ? This time last year I was in China with my guys, it seems like yesterday I spent the whole day with them at the Summer Palace and glad that I actually put some of our photos on the blog so whenever I miss them - I can always look back and remind myself again, never-ever wear high heel boots when you have to walk up those stairs at Great Wall.
Travelagys has been a really good reminder of all those upside down surprises for me, and hopefully you guys also find some of the travel information here useful too. Back in Jakarta, I was so happy when the editor from one of the travel magazines in Jakarta published my articles, then I went to Thailand and Australia to celebrate my birthday, worked at a government's event, had these amazing colleagues that I really grateful and feel lucky to work with for a year. Had to make few big decisions, learn a lot about letting go, even gone through some difficult times but in the end, I am blessed and couldn't be more thankful for having all of my special people who made me as I am today.
In the mean time, I found myself a perfect place to sit and just stare at the clear blue sky and quiet beach in Bali Cliff, or also what they call Green Bowl Beach, just next to Pandawa beach at Uluwatu. While there's been a lot of changes in Bali, so sad to find Dreamland is no longer beautiful - dirty, crammed with tourist. My favorite sound engineer guy recommended me to check out this beautiful place, absolutely quiet, less tourists or people trying to sell you stuff, in fact it was only me and my other 2 friends hanging out the whole afternoon at Green Bowl Beach. Found this beach after riding around and got lost a bit, you can ride to Uluwatu, ask people where you can find Pandawa beach or Bali Cliff. There's a small temple just next to Bali Cliff hotel entrance, turn left, you'll find a jungle and the stairs to the beach ( lots of monkeys too ) , as no one there sell drinks or food on the beach, you better bring yourself some cold beers or chips. Super happy to chill with Dom and Doddy, plus I got all the time and space I ever needed to clear my mind, sunbaking, see the sunset, figure out what's next for me and counting my blessings....
