When Trip 101 and Unlisted Collection contacted me for a weekend staycation at Hotel 1929 , I knew it's going to be an exciting project. Well, I've lived in Singapore for almost a year now, but with my hectic travel schedule and work - it seems I never really have time to explore what Singapore has to offer. So yesterday I packed few clothes and walking shoes, took my camera out from the box, wrote down things I wanted to try, I even discuss with my friend to film a short video... I guess someone was a little too excited playing tourist for a day.
Hotel 1929 is located strategically at Keong Saik road, less than 5 minutes walk to explore Chinatown. I let my curiosity lead me to try dim sum and coffee at a local restaurant, my favorite burrito bowl from Muchacos continue with cocktails from Potato Head Folk, then as I walked down Smith street, I found a delicious chicken rice from Tiong Bahru Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice. I feel like Chinatown has spoiled me ! Not only food, but also inspiration ! From rich culture to architectural styles, from colorful lanterns, windows, the heat to beautiful people... I found myself incredibly happy to get lost and tell a story through my lens photography. Something I should have done months ago, but heyy it's never too late to explore and enjoy some quality 'me' time.
