Chatuchak Market

Mango Sticky Rice and Mango Smoothies at Chatuchak
fruit stalls

I’m not really a big fan of shopping when I travel overseas but this world’s largest weekend market in Bangkok that covers area of 30 acres divided into more than 20 sections and definitely more than 10.000 booths selling not only food and drinks, but also antiques, books, clothes, ceramics, fruits, home décor and many more – was super worth to visit. Chatuchak Market opens every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6pm. Only 5 minutes walk from Mo Chit BTS Station, you can find the best local products from every part of Thailand in this market.

Make sure to stock up on cash before you get lost on this shoppers paradise, get the maps of Chatuchak Market to help you understand better every sections – since the market is really big, a little not well organized but still an excellent and authentic place to hunt Thai handicrafts, vintage dresses, cute shorts for only THB69, and oh my favorite one : Mango sticky rice and coconut water !! I didn’t buy anything but mango sticky rice, mango smoothie and coconut water. Simply happy just sitting in one of the fruit stall, having a small plate of mango while looking at tourists trying to bargain, how some Thai girls looking absolutely chic and stylish wearing colorful dresses and of course they go crazy hunting for clothes in the market, local people standing in front of their booth, even this hilarious big Mexican guy cooking and singing – was very entertaining in the middle of hot Sunday afternoon.

Ps :
Check out my Bangkok post for itinerary and budgets

Fell in love with this mexican guy :)
