Kyoto has captured my heart. From the moment I stepped off the Shinkansen at Kyoto station, to my favorite long walk at Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari, until my last day in the city, this special place filled my heart with so much joy, so much good food, beautiful people, inspiration and love! My friends kept saying to me "You're gonna love Kyoto!" Obviously I knew Kyoto was going to be a beautiful destination, but I don't think I was just prepared for just how amazing it is.
While Tokyo can feel very overwhelming for visitors, I love how I really took my time falling in love with Kyoto. Instead of rushing visiting one place to another, this time I choose to chill out, enjoy myself. I started most of my days in Kyoto exploring my favorite districts like Gion, Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka continue with trying different matcha desserts. Yes, matcha fondue at Jouvencelle for breakfast, why not?! I'm not a huge fan of matcha but when you're in Kyoto, trust me it's just so hard to ignore those pretty little shops selling desserts. And I found only in Japan I actually ate a lot more than usual. Just because there's so much delicious food out there to try so I always had different things, from lunch at Iyemon Salon, Robata Hotaru ( both offer lunch set ), Ikinari Steak, or dinner at Katsukura, sushi no Musashi ( the cheapest! ), obviously ramen, tempura, gyoza, wagyu beef which unfortunately I can't remember name of the restaurant but that's the thing about Japanese food in Kyoto or anywhere in Japan, they're all good...even those onigiri from Seven Eleven!
First visit and certainly it won't be my last.... So glad to finally checked Japan off my bucket list.
