6 Cities You Should Visit in Spain

You know what I love most about life? The fact life always ALWAYS has better plans for us. The moment you take a leap of faith and decide to trust life, that’s when life would surprise us. Take us to places we probably never imagined before. Sitting in my living room looking at some old pictures from Europe, I couldn’t help but smile just thinking about my Euro trip this year. From learning French in Nice to exploring more than 20 cities around Europe. Honestly, I never thought I’d make it back to Europe after my first visit in 2015 but I am glad life has a different plan so I get to visit so many places around the world, even those places I can’t really pronounce or never heard of.

Last April I returned to one of my favourite countries, Spain. It all started with a great conversation and dinner I had with a beautiful soul I met in Berlin. He suggested me to visit Granada, Madrid, and Seville. Seville has been on my bucket list for a very long time so I thought I’m gonna do it this year and maybe visit few more new cities in Spain before heading to Portugal. Obviously it’s always good to be back in Spain, my favourite home away from home. Reminded me of the very first time I visited this country in 2015 where I had a wonderful opportunity to live in Mallorca for 3 months. Then, the more you visit Spain, the more this country will steal your heart. From good food to culture to architecture to sunshine, Spain never fails to amaze me…I told my friend in my next life I think I’d love to be half Indonesian and half Spanish. Simply because Spanish people know how to celebrate and enjoy life, they’re just so cool and humble!

So if you’re thinking to visit Spain this December or next year and would love to experience something completely different and unique, here are 6 cities you should visit. Experience enchanting Granada, then be sure to visit Valencia ( and eat tons of pincho ), also go explore Mallorca and of course you can’t skip Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville!

Seville, Spain

Greetings from sunny Seville!

Oh my loves, how I wish all of you were here with me right now enjoying summer in Spain. It’s really cool how last week I was surrounded by Italians, now here I am sitting in a cafe, secretly loving the way Spanish people living their lives. Nothing, nothing makes me happier than surrounded by people who speak different languages, come from different backgrounds. I don’t think words can even describe how incredibly happy, full and complete I am now.

I’ve been dreaming about Seville for years. Since the day I left Mallorca in June 2015, I knew at some point I wanted to come back and explore more of Spain. To be here on my favourite month of the year ( hint: someone is turning 30 soon ) meant a lot to me. A reminder to believe in my dreams, to enjoy the moment, to trust life. 6 months ago when I secretly asked life to give me the biggest, possibly the best year, I never thought I’d be where I am today. Just the fact that I get to see my dreams come true everyday really blows my mind away and humbling in the same time. The past 11 months on the road have been the most exciting, challenging, absolutely one of the best chapters in my life. I could never get tired of waking up in new cities, strange places where I don’t know my way around. Even 90 % I can tell you it’s not always easy nor comfortable but in the end of the day I am grateful for life giving me space and time to do things I truly love. To explore, to evolve, to grow on my own pace.

Seville truly spoils me. Not only with good jamon ( go to Taberna Coloniales for the best tapas in town ) but also rich history, colour, music, so much inspiration wherever you go. From Plaza de Espana, to Santa Cruz, to Las Setas de Sevilla, to La Giralda even if you just exploring random streets or neighborhoods, this place easily made it to my top favorite summer destinations, also the prettiest cities in Spain you definitely have to visit.

Valencia, Spain

5 years ago today I left Indonesia with a luggage full of dreams to work at the happiest place on earth Disney World. Not only I had one of the best years in my life but also I made bunch of new friends and then we all become like family. I shared my apartment with few beautiful girls from Germany, Italy and Brazil. Despite of how different our personalities, I love how we support, help and take care of each other as if we're sisters. Even after we parted ways and continue living our own lives, we all still stay in touch. And it's amazing how life reunite us once again, maybe not in Disney but other places on earth. I got to visit my sweet darling Flavia in Valencia, Spain few months ago after haven't seen her for ages. Somehow I always knew the next time I visit Europe I'd see her again... so when she told me she just left Tenerife and moved to Valencia, I didn't even think twice to book my flight tickets to see her. One of the coolest, strongest, kindest, badass chicks I know.

Valencia reminds me a little bit of Tomorrowland in Disney. It's modern, super cool, I love how Spanish people just really chill and extremely warm. My good friends have warned me that it's so easy to fall in love with Valencia and they were right. From food, coffee, culture, art to Spanish people... there's just so much to love about this beautiful city.

2015 Recap

Happy New Year everyone !
I decided to share some of my highlights of 2015 just so whenever I need some motivation, I can always look back, take pride in how far I've come and have faith in how far I can go.
2015 has been one of the greatest years in my life. It's not always easy, in fact some days were tough and challenging but every struggle arises for a reason. For experience or a lesson. While everything in life is temporary, I learn to enjoy the present, make the most of every day. The past 12 months was all about chasing dreams and watching them all came true. Started with Disney World, Mexico, then Euro trip for 3 months, continue to Club Med Cherating for a month then South East Asia trip. Of course it was more than just visiting new places, I met waaay too many wonderful people, reunited with some good old friends, I got lost and found myself, fell in love, had opportunities to write for magazines and travel websites and finally landed myself a dream job with one of the biggest music companies. I am grateful for all the love and support I have received from friends and family, life's surprises, tough times and challenges, my bravery and perfect health, the courage to continue and the new beginning I am living now.
I hope 2016 brings all of us new hopes and aspirations.
