Chiang Mai

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Being incredibly lucky traveling to 17 countries, more than 50 cities for the past 13 months was definitely my highlight of 2015. The whole trip was more than just sightseeing. I learnt to survive, to accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in my journey. Even most of the times it means living the uncertainty and doing the hard things, but as you keep putting one foot in front of the others, you'll be blown away at just how remarkable you are and just how amazing life can be.

Now flashing back to my first visit to Chiang Mai I did last September 2015. I remember about a year ago I had a dream to continue my South East Asia trip from Bangkok all the way to Chiang Mai, then Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia then back to Bangkok again. It's amazing how everything happened exactly just like I how wanted to be.

Chiang Mai offers more than just stunning nature but also great food and culture. I arrived in the afternoon and decided to stay for 2 nights at Diva Guesthouse, met a sweet girl from Germany and we explored Chiang Mai together from the night market, Doi Suthep, temples, cafes continued to Pai. But if you asked me what I loved best about Chiang Mai, that would be FOOD. I guess it's no longer a secret Thailand has one of the best culinary scenes, including in Chiang Mai where you can find so many cafes and street food. I simply could never get enough of bread thai tea, Khao Soi, obviously I had a lot of Nutella crepes every afternoon and noodle soup ! Life is always so much better when you get to try new dishes, travel with new people, and surrounded by happy Thai people that knows how to appreciate the beauty of life.

Chiang Rai

One the best things about blogging, I can always time travel to the past through the pictures and story I create. While photographs can never replace the act of being there, I still love the idea how photograph can speak thousand words and bring back the memories. Then I asked myself, if you can really time travel to the past, is there any specific moment you would go in a heartbeat ?
To be really honest, there's so many special moments but I don't want to change a single thing, let the past be the past. Let the pictures tell the story and replay the memories.
Feel free to scroll down some photos I took when I was in Chiang Rai couple of months ago. I spent about three days exploring Chiang Rai with the best tour guide in town and an Indonesian guy I ran into when I was in Chiang Mai bus station. The highlight was definitely visiting the white temple or Wat Rong Khun and having Khao Soi continued with iced-coffee at Chivit Thamma Da.

The Pursuit of Happiness : South East Asia

My blog posts have been bouncing around back and forth between continents, countries and places around the world that after 7 months traveling it's a little difficult to update it regularly especially when I don't have my laptop with me on the road ( but always try my best to do it from smart phone ) and few weeks ago I had to switch my blog from Squarespace to Blogger only to lose a lot of pictures. Oh well...Recently I just got back from 2 weeks trip in Vietnam after few days hanging out in Luang Prabang and a month in Thailand. With a total of 70 hour something sleeping bus ride, hopping from one hostel to another, countless bowls of noodle soups, I can't wait to share the whole crazy adventures with my readers and hope one day you'll get to do it too as traveling in South East Asia has always been one of my dreams ( after I did it for the first time in 2012 ) - I'm so happy to return and take my time exploring the beauty of Asia. Meanwhile, here's a couple of shots I took from Thailand to Vietnam - I like these pictures for different emotions but mostly you can capture the happiness there. Of course there's more to come as I woke up early this morning and started working on those missing posts, I couldn't be more grateful to have opportunities visiting amazing places on earth and hopefully the story and photos can inspire you as much as the world continuously inspires me.
